Urethral Stricture (Narrowing of urinary passage)

Narrowing of urinary passage is mostly seen in young patients, or older patients with history of multiple procedures. Patients usually report poor urinary flow, straining to pass urine, thin urinary stream or recurring urinary infections. The only definitive/ effective treatment of this condition is surgery. You must consult your urologist for immediate management.

OIU (Optical internal urethrotomy)

Endoscopic management of the narrow passage is perhaps best suited for patients with small segment of narrow urethra. It may involve the use of laser. This procedure offers best results in carefully selected patients. It involves no cut over the skin.

Urethroplatsy

Patients with history of prior procedures, long segment of narrowing, or BXO (inflammatory condition of urinary passage), are best managed by this procedure. A graft may be taken from patient’s foreskin, or insides of the cheek to reconstruct the urinary passage and give it a natural look. It involves a small skin incision over the base of scrotum. The outcomes are excellent, and it also stops the progression of the disease. Book Appointment
