Kidney infections

Most infections in the kidneys respond to antibiotics, but sometimes in presense of pus, or obstruction in the kidneys, your urologist may plan to place a Double J stent (no skin incision), or percutaneous nephrostomy (2-3 mm tube, inside the kidney, coming out through skin over the back), to drain the infected contents. This would result in marked recovery of the patient, followed by removal of double J stent/ Nephrostomy.
